Performance review

Commentary on two performances:

1. Roger Daltrey’s during the Super Bowl halftime show. He was actually singing the whole long medley, and he did a great job. But I did notice that they did not show him doing the iconic scream in Baba O’Riley. I took this to mean that it was either taped, or he lipsynced it. Which is entirely understandable for a guy in his mid- to late-sixties. Overall I thought The Who did very well, but nobody beats Prince’s performance a few years ago.

2. I ran two miles nonstop today at 5.2 mph. That was about 22.30 minutes worth of straight running, and my goal is 25 minutes. So I feel pretty good about it. I don’t hurt, although I might tomorrow. Eventually, I want to run a 5k (3.1 miles) at about 5.5 or more mph. By then, it should be warm enough to take my exercise outside on the bike trails. This will be much harder than the treadmill, but much more enjoyable. Something to look forward to.

Also, I’m loving the use of Cheap Trick’s “Dream Police” as a new anthem: “Green Police” in the new Audi commercial. Cheap Trick could use some royalties. They seem like a bunch of good guys. And, what’s with all the first quarter commercials about guys not wearing pants?
